RTA announces free parking, Metro schedule in Dubai for long weekend

All the more reason to enjoy the three-day weekend to celebrate the start of the Islamic New Year as the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) announces that paid parking areas in Dubai will be free starting Thursday, September 21.

“All paid parking zones would be free across the emirate on Thursday except the multi-level parking lots. Parking fees would be reactivated on Saturday, September 23,” the announcement read.

RTA also announced the Metro and bus schedules during the New Hijri Year holiday:

Dubai Metro – Red Line Stations

From 5:30 am to 1:00 am of the following day

Dubai Metro – Green Line Stations

From 5:30 am to 1:00 am of the following day

*The Express Metro service will also be available during the holiday.

Tram Dubai

From 6:30 am to 1:00 am of the following day

Dubai Bus

The service time of main public bus stations are as follows:

Gold Souk will operate from 5:00 am to 1:00 am of the following day

Al Ghubaiba Station will be in service from 5:00 am to 12:10 am of the following day

Subsidiary stations will operate as follows:

Satwa station will start from 5:00 am to 11:35 pm except for the C01 line which will operate 24/7

Al Qusais Station will run bus service from 4:30 am to 12:00 mn

Al Quoz Industrial Station will be in operation from 5:00 am to 11:30 pm

Jebel Ali Station will open from 5:00 am to 12:00 mn

Metro Link Buses

Metro link bus stations at Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa, Abu Hail, and Etisalat will be in service from 05:00 am to 12:20 am.

Inter-city bus schedules are as follows:

Al Ghubaiba to Jubail Station in Sharjah service will run 24/7 and from 4:20 am to 1:00 am of the following day to Abu Dhabi

Union Square Bus Station will be running from 4:30 am to 1:25 am the next day

Sabkha Station will be open from 6:15 am to 1:30 am the next day

Deira City Center Station will operate from 5:35 am to 11: 30 pm

Karama station service will start at 6:10 am to 10:20 pm

Al Ahli Club station will be open from 5:55 am to 10:15 pm
