Only in Dubai: Watch movies for free at Dubai airport

by | TOP STORIES

Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the UAE who are set to go home will have one more reason to be excited as the Dubai International Airport (DXB) launches a free video streaming service that will keep passengers entertained.

After establishing convenience-providing features such as fast Wi-Fi, mobile passports, facial recognition systems, and sleeping pods, DXB has partnered with ICFLIX to allow passengers to stream Hollywood, Bollywood, and Arabic movies.

Eugene Barry, executive vice president of Dubai Airports’ commercial and communications group, said the partnership is a response to passengers’ demand for application of digital tools.

“This is a service which is completely free of charge to users. Dubai Airports is on a mission to engage more directly with our customers, and transform the airport experience for millions of travellers each month,” Barry said in a statement.

Recently, DXB recorded its busiest month on record for passenger traffic in July with over 8 million passengers.
