Pacquiao foe makes welterweight limit

Boxing champion and senator Manny Pacquiao’s Australian opponent made the weight limit during their weigh-in on Saturday morning at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.

Pacquiao tipped the scale at 146 pounds, just a pound less than Horn’s, one day before their bout dubbed Battle of Brisbane. Pacquiao is defending his WBO title in the welterweight category, where the weight limit is 147 pounds.

Horn was seven pounds overweight on Friday morning and had to fast and work out until weigh-in time to meet the 147-pound limit, according to reports.

Pacquiao is heavily favored to win the bout. He sports a 59-6-2 win-loss-draw record with 38 knockouts. Horn is undefeated in 16 fights with 11 knockouts and one draw.
