Batman attends feast of Black Nazarene in Quiapo

Amidst sea of devotees wearing maroon in the procession of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila, one man was able to stand out from the rest.

Rodrigo Dizon, a 50-year-old devotee from Bulacan, has been a consistent follower of the Nazarene for 11 years.

Dizon regularly attends the Friday mass at Quiapo Church also known as Misa sa Minor Basilica, wearing the famous black suit costume of Batman, reported ABS CBN News.

Today, January 9, Dizon also attended the nationwide celebration of the Nazarene’s feast wearing his costume.

Dizon explained that the reason for wearing the superhero’s costume is to change how some Filipino think about the
Catholic faith, resorting to mentality ‘bahala na si Batman’ when push comes to shove.

Dizon strongly believes in the miracle of the Black Nazarene.

He said that every time he visits the Nazarene, it never fails to make him feel better. He also claims that the Nazarene is making his family healthier and stronger.

The feast of the Black Nazarene is celebrated annually by many Filipino devotees, who claims that it miraculously heal them, and give them healthier and longer life.
