Vendors from the famed University belt ‘Hepa Lane’ reopened and renamed their stalls ‘Happy Lane,’ but authorities still shut them down, citing the Manila City Hall’s closure order issued last week.
The street food vendors tore the closure orders, and insisted on the name ‘happy lane,’ claiming they made their customers happy and full with their affordable products, ABS CBN reported.

The closure order issued last week followed complaints by customers who allegedly contracted hepatitis after eating from the stores, GMA News reported.
“Parang ticking time bomb na po ito sa hepatitis,” Manila Health Department District 4 health inspector Larry Villegas told GMA News.
The Manila Sanitation Division recommended they be closed down as neither of the stores in the so-called ‘hepa lane’ have business permits, sanitary permits, and health certificates.
