More than 30,000 volunteers are needed as ambassadors of the upcoming Expo 2020, especially students, employees, housewives and retirees.
Volunteers are required to work for six months as ushers, event managers or around 43 other roles.
They will also have a say in the brainstorming process for the Expo’s events and can join various Expo-related activities even before the Expo opens.
“They will be the ‘face’ of the event since most of our visitors will have an initial contact to Expo through meeting a volunteer,” the Gulf News quoted Reem Ebrahim Al Hashemi, Director-General of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau, as saying.
She added that this opportunity is great work experience for the volunteers.
“We have created strategic roles to ensure volunteers get the best out of their experience, including skills that they can go on to use in the workplace or in their daily lives,” the Gulf News quoted her as saying.
Interested applicants can register online on Friday, Oct. 20.
Expo 2020 Dubai is a world exposition featuring several events geared towards achieving opportunity, mobility and sustainability. The Expo is expecting 25 million visitors as well.
