Gang attempts to steal Dh2 million worth of kids’ clothes in Dubai

A gang of Pakistani were charged with a robbery attempt in the Court of First Instance after attempting to break the locks of a warehouse in Dubai containing kids’ clothes worth Dh2 million on August 4.

The three Pakistani workers aged between 21 and 33 were allegedly trying to break the warehouse’s locks for three hours before running away after a car was spotted in the area.

No items in the warehouse were stolen, reported Khaleej Times.

The owner of the warehouse located in Ras Al Khor Industrial area called the police on August 5 after noticing that the warehouse’ locks were broken.

Upon checking CCTV footage, she discovered the gang trying to break into her warehouse.

“I checked the CCTV and found the thieves had come at 8.30pm on August 4. Two of them wearing masks tried to break the locks with a sharp tool. It took them three hours to break two out of three locks. But they had to flee the place after spotting a car coming,” Khaleej Times has quoted her explaining to the prosecutor.

A police sergeant circulated a photo of one of the suspects among CID officers and eventually arrested them.

The arrested suspect then helped the police in locating his accomplices.

Two of the alleged suspects admitted to the crime while the third man claimed innocence, saying that he was unaware of his friends’ plan and was just asked to accompany them.
