A gang of Asians were caught red-handed while they were changing the production and expiration dates of expired food and cosmetic products in Sharjah.
The group was arrested by police authorities for preparing the expired products for distribution among consumers.
According to the municipality, 14 tonnes of expired products are confiscated in the backyard of a warehouse located in Al Dhaid industrial area.
They also seized two trucks that was supposed to be used in distributing the products, a sewing machine used to sew the packs, and an electronic scale.
“They ran a warehouse that lacked minimum environmental and sanitary conditions and standards. The warehouses contained tonnes of expired food and cosmetic products. They were preparing to distribute the harmful products to consumers in some neighbouring emirates,” Khaleej Times has quoted Ironically, Al Dhaid Municipality Director Ali Musabah Al Tuneji.
