Killed OFW’s son tests negative for gunpowder

Kian delos Santos, the killed son of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) working in Saudi Arabia, was tested negative for gunpowder based on the remains’ paraffin tests, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has revealed.

The latest findings contradict the earlier statements of the police involved in the killing, saying delos Santos fired back at them.

“Oo, negative siya (Delos Santos) sa gunpowder, sa paraffin test sa crime lab,” PNP Internal Affairs Service acting chief Senior Superintendent Romeo Sta Ana told Rappler in a phone interview.

Earlier, the PNP Crime Laboratory announced that Delos Santos died from two gunshot wounds based on their autopsy report.

Their announcement contradicted the autopsy report made by the Public Attorney’s Office that showed Delos Santos died from three gunshot wounds.

A public outrage was ignited over Delos Santos’ death after a CCTV footage revealed that he is being dragged over by two policemen. Witnesses claimed he was blindfolded and beaten before the policemen killed him.

Delos Santos’ OFW mother Lorenza went back to the country to visit her son’s wake. She said she will bring justice to her son whatever it may took, Inquirer has reported.
