Gang robs Dh400,000 from money exchange van in Al Ain

Al Ain Police has urged money transferring companies to be cautious after a gang of six Africans assaulted and robbed a money exchange van of Dh400,00.

Police authorities immediately arrested the suspects in Al Ain’s industrial area following a tip-off to Falaj Hazza police station that several unidentified people were beating employees of the money exchange, said Brigadier Mohammad Suhail Al Rashdi.

This prompted the authorities to immediately send cops to the crime scene to look into the incident, where they nabbed the suspects and  recovered a bag containing Dh400,000 that belongs to the exchange house.

As per the police report, the van’s security personnel also sustained injuries when they had resisted the gang members.

The suspects confessed to their crime and the were referred to public the prosecution office for legal action.
