The Abu Dhabi Municipality seized about 4,000 fake products in the emirate, including herbal cans, children toys, lenses and other items.
Authorities said the items were identified as fakes after an inspection of outlets in Baniyas area. Inspectors checked if the stores werecl complying with health standards and laws of the emirate.
The municipal inspectors also checked if products tags were in place and shows the country of origin, date of manufacturing and contents written in English and Arabic.
The inspections were also aligned with the Muslim’s holy month of Ramadan.
Retailers are advised to follow public health standards of the city to ensure the safety of consumers.
