Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on Monday inaugurated the Phase 2 of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Part at Seih Al Dahal in Dubai.
The Solar Park is expected to generate clean energy for 50,000 houses in Dubai.
The event which coincided with International Happiness Day was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai who led the festivities.
Around 750,000 consumers are currently benefitting from this new infrastructure, which already generates 200MW of clean energy ahead of its April schedule.
The number of customers is expected eventually to reach one million in the next two years as a five per cent increase in customers is seen annually. -ALD
