Three Philippine islands topped the list of world’s best islands done by international travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
In the magazine’s 2017 Readers’ Choice Awards, numerous travelers voted Boracay, Cebu and Palawan for the first, second and third best islands, respectively.
The magazine described Boracay as a “tropical idyll” famous for its white beach and nightlife.
Cebu and the Visayan islands ranked second because their beaches had a “personal” touch, according to travelers.
Meanwhile, voters knew Palawan for its famed Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, one of the world’s seven natural wonders.
Completing the top five are Spain’s Mallorca and Greece’s Mykonos.
More than 300,000 people participated in the online survey.
According to Condé Nast Traveler, the survey showed a trend of tourists preferring “authentic” and “personalized” travel.
