VIDEO: Emirati thanks Filipinos for changing his country

Emirati vlogger Khalid Al Ameri posted a video last January 19 on his Facebook page, thanking the Filipino community for their significant contributions to the UAE.

In a short video titled “Filipinos Changed My Country,” Al Ameri gave a message for the all the Filipinos in the country and he even thanked them for being part of his 62-day filmmaking experience.

“Through making these videos, I’ve gotten to meet with Filipino technicians, Filipino artists, Filipinos who work in our nuclear plant, Filipinos who take care of our parks, Filipinos who work in our service sectors, Filipinos who are educators, Filipinos who are contributing to all aspects of society in the UAE,” he said in the video.

However, Al Ameri said that he wanted to thank the Filipino community for one particular thing.

“The tagline of the Philippines is “It is more fun in the Philippines,” and that is what the Filipino community has brought to this country – their joy of life, their kindness, their ability to smile no matter what – and through that, they make this country a better place,” he genuinely said.

As of this article’s writing, Al Ameri’s video has gained over 1 million views and over 81,000 reactions.

Al Ameri has a verified Facebook page with over 380,000 followers. He also has over 35,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, The Al Ameris, where he posts videos of him together with his family.
