Miss Earth Philippines 2017 Karen Ibasco is getting a lot of attention from pre-pageant judges and the press, bagging five medals, the most a candidate has in the competition.
During the media presentation of the candidates on Monday, October 30, Ibasco was hailed “Darling of the Press”, taking home the gold, while Miss Thailand and Miss Zambia received silver and bronze medals, respectively.
The medical physicist-turned-beauty queen previously turned heads with her modern take on the Filipiniana, earning her the gold once again in the Asia Pacific National Costume competition.
Ibasco also won the gold, wearing a black bikini for the swimsuit group competition.
She added two silver medals with her impressive performance in the long gown and resort wear competitions.
Ibasco is hoping to bring back the Miss Earth crown to the Philippines during the finals night on November 4 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
