British singer Ed Sheeran’s Divide concert in Dubai will proceed as planned, event organizers said.
“We have now received an update from the Ed Sheeran team that he is unable to perform for the immediate future. Since Dubai is the last show of the season, we have been told that the show is still going ahead as planned,” the Gulf News quoted 117Live CEO Thomas Ovesen as saying.
The possibility of the Dubai concert on Nov. 23 has come into question after Sheeran’s other shows in Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong were canceled due to a bicycle accident.
“A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future,” Sheeran’s team said on his Facebook page today.
Tickets to the Dubai concert at the Autism Rocks Arena are already sold out.
