Jackie Chan’s estranged daughter took to Instagram October 5 and came out as a lesbian.
His 18-year-old daughter Etta Ng posted a photo of her in front of a rainbow background with the caption “#lgbtqai #lgbt #lesbian #androgynous” and a rainbow emoji, the symbol of the LGBT community.
Social media influencer Andi Autumn revealed that she is Ng’s girlfriend the same day she came out.
In the post, she shared the hardships the couple faced together including discrimination in Hong Kong and other places they have been.
“We’ve encountered a lot of discrimination from family, friends, and the Hong Kong society. We are living in such an international city and yet so many people have their minds closed off,” Autumn wrote in the caption.
“But none of it matters when I know every morning [you’re] going to be next to me. I love you,” she said.
Two days after she came out, Ng thanked the people who supported her decision to come out.
“Thankfully I’ve grown since the days I was powerless and uncertain what the world has for me. Thank you for the enormous outpour of love and acceptance,” she wrote.
Ng has previously disclosed her estranged relationship with her famous action star father, saying that he views him only as an actor and her biological father.
“He is not my dad. I have no feelings for him. He is my biological father but he is not in my life,” Express quoted her as saying.
“I would not say that he is my dad. I would say, ‘Oh, Jackie Chan, an actor’.”
