Filipino boy band wows judges on X Factor UK

When it comes to singing competitions, even distance can’t stop vocally-gifted Filipinos from showing what they’ve got.

All-Filipino boy band JBK impressed the judges of X Factor UK 2017 with their soulful rendition of Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down” during the second round of auditions in London.

The trio, composed of Joshua Bulot, Bryan del Rosario, and Kim Lawrenz Ordonio, flew in from the Philippines to audition for the 14th season of the British music competition.

“We flew all the way from the Philippines. We arrived yesterday after a 24-hour flight,” they said to the judges.

The judges had nothing but high praises for the band, giving JBK four yeses and propelling them to the next round of competitions.

X Factor UK judge and half-Filipina Nicole Sherzinger said, “You are making all Filipinos proud right now.”

Judge Louis Walsh added, “I love your dedication, flying from the Philippines, it was good.”

Filipina Gaga Lord also received all four yeses from the judges for her mesmerizing rendition of Shirley Bassey’s “Diamonds are Forever”.

JBK is the second Filipino group to pass the auditions, after girl group 4th Impact who finished fifth in the 12th season of X Factor UK in 2015.
