‘Pinoy Aquaman’ makes waves anew in Bohol

Ingemar “Pinoy Aquaman” Macarine is making waves after accomplishing his latest open water swimming challenge on Sunday. He made his way to Cabilao Island in Bohol from Cebu to promote the tourism and marine environment conservation of the two provinces.

The swim to Bohol from Cebu lasted about eight hours and covered a distance of at least 18.15 km. The environment lawyer’s latest feat is his last training session before attempting to be the first Filipino to swim through the English Channel next month.

“This is my last swim before I depart for UK next week to start my training for the ultimate swim of my life that would be August 14,” he said.

Swimming 33 km across the English Channel, from Dover in England to Callais in France, is considered as the “Mount Everest” of swimming.

“I will try to swim again the English Channel because last year I was not able to swim because of the bad weather,” Macarine added.

Macarine was included in the list of the “2017 World’s 50 Most Adventurous Open Water Men” of the World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA).
