Johnny Depp faces perjury charge

American actor Johnny Depp’s 2015 issue with Australian authorities over his pet dogs is not yet over as new allegations emerged that he knew it was illegal to bring terriers to the country without them being quarantine.

Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce, a vocal critic of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star, wants to look into the allegations made by Depp’s former management in a lawsuit and hinted that the actor could face perjury charge.

In the complaint sheet of his former business managers TMG, they alleged that Depp was “fully aware” he was breaking Australian laws with regards to the dogs.

Depp and then-wife Amber Heard brought her pet dogs to Australia in 2015 but they did not declare the pets upon arrival in the airport.

Actress-model Heard pleaded guilty to falsifying her immigration arrivals card and was fined $758 by Australian authorities. She and Depp also issued an apology.

Depp and Joyce figured in a word war after the latter threatened to put down the dogs in view of Australia’s strict quarantine law.
